GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Louise Hinton, a passionate credit union advocate who worked at Campus FCU for 35 years, eventually become CEO, died Nov. 6 at 87.
Hinton moved to Gainesville with her husband, Charles Hinton, in 1953, and went to work at the tiny credit union as an accountant in 1956.
Once at the credit union, she rose up the ranks, ultimately becoming the CEO. She stayed with the credit union as it moved through multiple locations and expansions. While she served as CEO, she would cook meals for the staff during board meetings.
