SALT LAKE CITY – Mountain America Credit Union said it was recognized as one of Utah’s Best Places to Work by the State of Utah Department of Workforce Services Office of Work & Family Life.
For this annual recognition program, employees are invited to complete a confidential survey provided by the state, which scores the following areas: flexibility and benefits; whole life; workplace excellence; and business and people success. This is the seventh time Mountain America has been honored with the award, the credit union said.

We owe it to our great employees to provide a great work environment, and The Utah Work/Life award recognizes our efforts on behalf of our employees. On Feb. 2, we will be holding an employee celebration to thank everyone who contributes to making Mountain America a thriving corporate community,” said Sterling Nielsen, president & CEO of MACU, who accepted the award at the January presentation ceremony.
The state agency said the award recognizes companies that have created outstanding work environments and business growth by providing well for the work/life needs of their employees.
“There are 20 winning companies from around the state, ranging from 10 to almost 1,000 employees,” said Lynette Rasmussen, Director of the Utah Office of Work and Family Life. “The winning companies demonstrated a dedication to thriving internally and in the market, focusing on creating cultures of learning, passion and engagement.”
