AUGUSTA, Maine Maine’s credit unions rolled out a new, two-year awareness campaign this month called “Now is the Time,” which encourages consumers to take advantage of the many benefits that credit unions offer.
The campaign features five, 30-second TV spots filmed in a variety of locations in Maine, with real Mainers in a variety of real-life situations. The spots show members on the move from using mobile technology on the boat dock to making healthy choices on how they spend their time and life.
The TV commercials are titled: “Lending Path,” “Greater Access,” “Tech Savvy,” “Trusted,” and “Young & Free.” The audience target is Gen Y and X, and females, up to age 50. It is projected that the commercials will reach 98% of the viewing audience an average of 30 to 45 times annually.
Maine’s credit unions said the spots reflect how consumers are connected most of the time and how account access is important to them. The spots ask, “Why would you need a bank?” since credit unions are local, and connected with the largest surcharge-free ATM network, resulting in more locations than any single bank in Maine by “sharing their branches.” The campaign shares how credit unions are made of people from their community who care about what matters in their lives “helping your money go farther so you can go farther too.”
The campaign includes an updated micro site and mobile credit union locator, as well as a strong social media presence. Maine’s credit unions are a major sponsor of a number of events throughout the state.
