Maine’s MidCoast FCU Names Local CU Exec Its New CEO

BATH, Maine MidCoast FCU announced it has hired Joe Gervais, executive vice president at nearby (Maine) University CU, as president and CEO of the $126-million credit union.

Gervais will succeed Gail Richardson, who is retiring after 33 years working in Maine credit unions.

Gervais has worked in credit unions for 20 years, the past seven as University CU’s EVP with direct responsibility of the lending, marketing and retail branch functions. During that time he also was president of Primary Mortgage Corporation, a CUSO providing secondary market mortgage services to other Maine credit unions.

Gervais was picked after a search conducted by O’Rourke & Associates.
