MACON, Ga. – A man who took a taxicab to rob a Robins FCU branch here Friday afternoon was arrested within five minutes.

The suspect hailed a cab at a nearby gas station and asked the driver to take him to the credit union, according to police. Inside, the suspect gave a teller a note demanding money. He did not show a weapon.

The robber left the credit union and asked the same cab driver to take him to a Red Lobster restaurant. The taxi was hailed a few blocks away by officers, who arrested the suspect – less than five minutes after the heist.
