"Right now there's an 11-month certificate that is the hot item, it's the rate of the day," Mid-Atlantic Corporate VP-Member Services Rodney May offered. "It's an odd term. I think it's just a marketing tool to get people's attention."

"Ensure your risk models have the appropriate assumptions," suggested Tom Moore, senior vice president of investment services at Mid-States Corporate. "Take a look back at what your models said six months ago versus what actually has happened six months later. I haven't seen any six-month CDs at 6% this cycle, at least not yet. But when I do, I'll move my money!"
