Member Steals Collection Jar From Teller’s Counter For Second Time

CLAWSON, Mich. – A man suspected of stealing a donation jar from the counter at the teller’s station at Clawson Community two months ago was arrested after police say he returned there last week and stole another donation jar, with just $17.66 in it.

The donation jar was to raise funds for the Clawson High School robotics team and reported stolen from a counter at the credit union March 1. The empty jar was found several weeks later in the parking lot after the snow melted.

A suspect in the first theft, identified on the surveillance video, returned to the credit union last Monday to make a withdrawal, police said. The suspect is a member of a nearby credit union using Clawson’s shared branch.
