MIDLAND, Mich. – Members First CU granted $100 grants to more than 40 teachers in grades kindergarten through 12.
The grants will be used for a classroom project or activity to help promote the one-time Midland County Teachers CU’s mission of Making a Positive Difference in the lives of their members and communities.
Among the winners: a teacher in Auburn wanted to use a grant to construct a mini wind generator for an alternative energy science project; at Frankenmuth High School, the idea of a “Challenge Day” was submitted to teach a social tolerance program. The idea of an after-school program at Midland Academy was submitted as well. A kindergarten teacher at Eastlawn Elementary used her grant money to purchase 20 book and CD sets.
