HOUSTON - Greater cooperation and challenging the status quo were the buzzwords at the Texas CU League’s recent Annual Meeting here–along with a moment to recognize an impressive attendance streak.
Anne Boatright, CEO of Capitol CU in Austin, urged CUs to take steps to boost membership during her final address as chairman. “Why is credit union membership flat? Is it because we are defined as just another financial institution?” she asked. “When credit unions collaborate and work together, we can accomplish a lot of good.”
CUs are “making their mark” on public policy, having forged strong relationships with elected officials, and are making a big difference in financial literacy.
