Burning Mountain Merges Into Western Rockies

RIFLE, Colo.-The $9.8-million Burning Mountain Credit Union is merging into the $70.5-million Western Rockies FCU. BMCU cited the ability to expand product offerings for agreeing to the merger with Western Rockies (the former Mesa County Teachers FCU), which has a community charter to serve four counties.

Ahold USA FCU Changes Name To Market USA CU

BELTSVILLE, Md.-Ahold USA Federal Credit Union, which has locations in Maryland, South Carolina and Tennessee, is changing its name to Market USA Federal Credit Union. "We wanted a name that would better reflect the diversity of the membership," said CEO Robert McClosky. The credit union was founded in1953 for employees of Giant Food Inc. grocery stores.

Port Gardner Bay CU Merges Into NorthWest Plus

EVERETT, Wash.-The $83-million NorthWest Plus Credit Union has absorbed via merger Port Gardner Bay Credit Union. The merger adds 2,400 members to NorthWest Plus Credit Union's base and adds another $7 million in assets. NorthWest Plus Credit Union will keep Port Gardner Bay's Edmonds, Wash. office open which is located in Stevens Memorial Hospital, but will close its Broadway location in Everett, Wash. Three of Port Gardner Bay staff have accepted positions with NorthWest Plus Credit Union.

Sun FCU Acquires Property, Merges With SAMFCU

TOLEDO, Ohio-Members of the St. Anne Mercy FCU approved a merger with Sun FCU. Sun Federal recently acquired property on Monroe Street near the St. Anne Mercy Hospital and will begin construction on a new branch facility this summer. Completion is expected before year-end. The $210-million SFCU now has more than 28,500 members with eight offices located in Toledo, Ohio and Philadelphia.
