Merger Creates Biggest CU In Western N.Y. Region

PAINTED POST, N.Y. – First Heritage FCU plans to complete its acquisition of CCSD FCU next week, creating the biggest credit union in the Elmira-Corning region.

The $260 million credit union will retain the First Heritage name and have and nine branches in Elmira, Southport, Elmira Heights, Horseheads, Corning, Painted Post, Addison and Wellsboro, serving Chemung or Steuben counties and Tioga County, Pa.

Arthur Field will remain as First Heritage president and chief executive officer, with James Stracuzzi, former president of CCSD, taking over as chief operating officer.
