Michigan CU Sheds Its Auto Body Moniker

LANSING, Mich. – Auto Body CU, chartered in 1949 to serve workers at the Fisher Auto Body company, in April will be changing its name to Astera CU to reflect a broader marketing effort.

“This is an exciting opportunity to build on our great history of serving Lansing area auto workers and to celebrate all workers in the mid-Michigan area,” said Jeff Croff, vice president of marketing for the $150 million credit union.

“We’re proud to have been founded by UAW local 602 over 60 years ago and equally proud to now be serving over 150 different employers in the mid-Michigan area. This name represents our commitment to being the brighter solution in all of our members’ financial decisions,” he stated.
