Michigan CUs Pilot Foreclosure Prevention Bid

LANSING, Mich. – The National CU Foundation announced yesterday it has awarded a $43,828 Innovation Grant to the Michigan CU League to develop a multi-media foreclosure program.

The league will partner with credit unions, the Michigan State University Extension, and United Ways to produce and distribute an educational video, 8,000 DVDs, and online resources to reach more Michigan homeowners.

Michigan has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the country due to lay-offs in the auto industry, high unemployment and rapidly decreasing home values.
