DETROIT – In one of the most ambitious in-school expansion plans ever, Michigan First CU said it plans to add 10 student-run branches this year to its network of 11 in-school facilities.

The credit union’s student-run branch network includes 10 elementary and middle school facilities and one at a local high school.
The $475 million credit union originally was chartered to serve members of the Detroit teachers union, but changed its charter in 2001 to reflect a broader membership base serving the greater metropolitan area.
