CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. Michigan Schools and Government CU has introduced the AskAuto smart phone car-buying application to its members.

With the AskAuto app, a CUNA Mutual product, the credit union said shoppers can scan vehicle identification numbers, or VINs, to get average retail costs and EPA mileage estimates. They also can make notes and rate all the vehicles they like. The AskAuto app saves the information for comparison later.

AskAuto also can be used to apply for loan with the credit union.
