LAKE CHARLES, La. - (11/16/05) -- The FBI is investigating the theftof as much as $480,000 from McNeese FCU they believe was taken by along-time employee. The suspect is a former teller who is believedto have misappropriated the money over an eight-year period. Theex-teller reportedly confessed to an elaborate scheme by which shetook funds from member accounts, then shifted funds betweenaccounts to hide the theft. The suspect has not been charged yet,authorities said.
