COLUMBIA, Mo. Missouri Credit Union has notified members of a data breach that could affect members’ personal data.
The credit union has informed members that on Aug. 5 a file containing member information was inadvertently made available through the credit union’s website, exposing names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and teller and call-in passwords. The credit union told local media the file was removed and that 10 visits to the file’s location occurred during the time it was available.
Missouri CU began notifying members on Aug. 16 and has arranged to have AllClear ID protect the identity of the members whose information was in the file for one year. The credit union also has set up a call center for concerned members who want more information.
