Missouri CU Association Adds McKechnie To Advocacy Team

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) said John McKechnie of Total Spectrum will join its credit union advocacy team in Washington, D.C.

The MCUA said McKechnie, who serves as Senior Vice President at Total Spectrum, will enhance and augment credit union advocacy efforts before lawmakers, governmental entities, media and the general public.

In partnership with MCUA’s VP of Federal Legislative Affairs Amy McLard, McKechnie will lobby credit union issues before Congress and other governmental entities. He will advise MCUA in developing educational programs that motivate credit union professionals and volunteers to increase their involvement in the political process, and assist in devising strategies to apply MCUA political resources to the electoral process.

Total Spectrum, a Washington, D.C.-based company, is dedicated to helping organizations navigate the legislative and regulatory process.

McKechnie most recently was the Director of Public and Congressional Affairs at NCUA for five years. He also has worked at CUNA as its Director of Political Action and Chief Lobbyist.
