SHEFFIELD, Ala. – Increasing numbers of credit unions are helping to hitch their members with low-cost wedding loans.
Listerhill CU recently launched a wedding registry it calls “MatriMoney,” which not only provides financing for weddings, but planning assistance too. When a couple opens their MatriMoney account the credit union gives them a $25 gift, then MatriMoney Registry announcements, which are wallet-sized registries that inform members they can make a monetary gift to the bride and groom at any of the credit union’s branches.
Recently, New England FCU, in Vermont, introduced a Lifestyle Loan up to $1,000 to help brides and grooms pay for their weddings.
T&C FCU, in Michigan, offers a special Wedding Loan up to $15,000 for 8.5%. Phoenix CU has a Wedding and Honeymoon Loan Package.
