WASHINGTON – Mortgage rates ticked up slightly this week but remain near record lows, according to Freddie Mac.
The average for the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage inched up to 3.34% this week, from 3.32% last week; while the average for the 15-year loan rose to 2.67% from 2.64%.
ARM rates declined slightly, with the average for the five-year ARM dipping to 2.69% this week, from 2.72% last week; and the average for the one-year ARM slipping to 2.55% from 2.56%.
“Mortgage rates were little changed and near record lows this week amid indicators of stronger economic growth and signs of tame inflation,” said Frank Nothaft, chief economist for Freddie Mac.
