Mother, Daughter Charged In Heist

A 60-year-old woman and her daughter were facing numerous criminal charges when they allegedly held up Southwest Colorado FCU and made off with more than $100,000, according to police.

Both Sharon Vaughn and her daughter Danja Vaughn were facing charges of theft and forgery in El Paso County Court when they allegedly held up the credit union, adding to their legal woes.

The Vaughns were arrested after the mother tried to pay her landlord $20,000 in $20 bills, apparently taken from the credit union. Both mother and daughter attempted suicide on June 9 after police searched their house and found $85,494 of the credit union's cash.
