WEST JORDAN, Utah Mountain America CU is working with First Data Corp. to launch the company’s Pogo mobile payment solution for small businesses.
First Data said Pogo enables credit, signature debit and cash acceptance anywhere in the U.S. where a merchant has wireless coverage.
Pogo works by allowing a merchant to combine a web-enabled smart phone or tablet with a mobile application and secure mobile card reader to create a point-of-sale device that leverages First Data’s technology, infrastructure and distribution channel, including relationships with financial institutions and others.
Merchants can apply online for the Pogo solution through credit unions’ and banks’ websites.
First Data also is working with First American Bank, Mutual of Omaha Bank, Associated Bank, First Bank, IBC Bank, BancorpSouth and Extraco Banks on the Pogo rollout.
