Mummy Bandit Strikes In Phoenix

PHOENIX – A man being called the “Mummy Bandit” hit a credit union branch here.

The man, wrapped in bandages and walking on crutches, entered a Desert Schools FCU branch inside a Wal-Mart, approached the teller counter, pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and demanded that the tellers open their cash drawers. He then jumped over the teller counter and removed bills from the teller drawers, filling a plastic grocery bag.

The suspect fled the Wal-Mart on foot without his crutches.

The credit union is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the Mummy Bandit’s capture.
