CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas Navy Army Community CU announced that Sarah O’Brien, its executive vice president and controller, has been promoted to be president and CEO of the $1.9 billion credit union.
O’Brien will succeed Wayne Vann who retired as head of the 58-year-old credit union, chartered to serve employees at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christsi and now authorized to serve all of surrounding Hidalgo and Cameron counties.
“The great news for the members is that I have been here; I have been a part of the decisions that have made the organization what it is today,” said O’Brien, who has worked at the credit union for 26 years, since it had just $55 million in assets. “With that in mind, our goal is to serve the financial needs of the people in the communities we do business in. That goal remains front and center.”
