VIENNA, Va. Navy FCU has hired Vienna’s longtime deputy police chief to be physical security manager at its corporate headquarters, the second police executive leaving the suburban Washington town to join the credit union giant.
Capt. Michael Miller, a 29-year Vienna police veteran who has served for the past eight years, will work under the credit union’s vice president of security, Robert Carlisle, who stepped down Jan. 1 after serving as Vienna’s police chief for nearly 12 years.
Miller, 51, joined the Vienna Police Department in September 1984. He was a captain when then-Chief Carlisle reorganized the department eight years ago and made him deputy chief.
