New active duty members who join the credit union and enroll in direct deposit before Oct. 9 will be eligible to participate in the program.

"After spreading the word about our government shutdown contingency plan, we heard so many happy stories of relief, we knew we had to keep going," said Cutler Dawson Navy Federal president and CEO. "So now we are telling all our active duty members to make sure they are covered … for direct deposit, if they have not already."
