DECATUR, Ga. – ATM maker NCR Corp. said it has acquired a minority stake in uGenius Technology, a maker of video tellers for credit unions and banks.
The companies earlier collaborated on NCR’s Aptra Interactive Teller, which has been piloted by several credit unions, including Community Choice CU in Farmington, Mich., Hudson Valley FCU in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., American Heritage FCU in Philadelphia, and Coastal FCU in North Carolina.
The video teller uses an ATM’s built-in camera to connect a member to a credit union employee. That employee can control the ATM remotely, the company said.
uGenius is based in Sandy, Utah.
