NCUA Approves Large Indiana Charter

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The NCUA Board yesterday approved a request by one-time defense credit union Finance Center FCU to expand its current community charter covering Marion County to serve 1.8 million residents of metropolitan Indianapolis, which is one of the biggest community charters in recent years.

The vast community grant covers Marion, Boone, Brown, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, Putnam and Shelby counties.

The $420 million credit union, originally chartered to serve the Army Finance Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison, currently serves about 900,000 residents in surrounding Marion County.
