ALEXANDRIA, Va. — John McKechnie, NCUA's director of public and congressional affairs, has announced plans to leave the agency some time in th first quarter of 2011.

McKechnie, a 23-year veteran of credit unions who joined the agency after a career with CUNA in its political advocacy operation, declined to say where he might be headed after NCUA, described his NCUA tenure as "terrifically exciting, challenging, stressful and, in the final analysis, very professionally rewarding."
