NCUF Seeks Partners For Homebuyers Counseling

The National CU Foundation is calling on interested credit unions to apply with it for federal grant money to develop counseling for moderate- and low-income first-time homebuyers. Last year, the Department of Housing and Urban Development granted the Foundation $701,000, which it used to help fund 11 counseling programs for first-time homebuyers.

The foundation is accepting applications from interested credit unions and related organizations until April 7, so that it may complete an application to HUD for the funding. Grant awards are used by credit unions and related organizations to pay salaries and benefits of staff to work on housing counseling programs.
