Bellco CU Launches PAYITGREEN Program
DENVER-In an effort to further its commitment to preserving Colorado's environment, Bellco Credit Union has partnered with PayItGreen, a program that encourages credit union members to use online banking and rewards them by planting a tree in their honor.
Bellco said consumers who receive electronic bills and statements and make payments electronically retain tighter control over their accounts in real time, noting that nearly 85% of identity theft cases are due to "offline transactions, so switching to online banking helps reduce fraud as well as greenhouse gas emissions.

Aloha Pacific FCU Expands KalaRewards Checking
HONOLULU-Aloha Pacific FCU has expanded its KalaRewards Checking program to business members. The program offers a 3% annual percentage yield on checking balances up to $50,000, plus free reward points on check-card purchases, online access, e-statements and cancelled check images.
Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union has $450 million in assets and five branches statewide.
Yolo Announces Solar Banking Partnership
WOODLAND,Calif.-YoloFCU has teamed up with TalbottCorp and groSolar to offer what it is calling "Solar Banking" finance options to encourage members to "go green" by purchasing photovoltaic systems to use solar energy in their homes.
The program includes rebates of up to $1,500 on purchases of PV systems by Yolo FCU members. The solar banking rebate is in addition to the California Solar Initiative rebate and the recently enacted Investment Tax Credit for residential solar projects. The Solar Banking program includes fixed rate loans up to $25,000 with no application fees or closing costs.

State Dept. FCU Offers Interest Checking
WASHINGTON-State Department Federal Credit Union now offers interest and high interest checking accounts to its members. No monthly service fees are required. Both accounts require a minimum balance, but do not penalize members for dropping below the minimum balance.
The Advantage Checking Account, a $5,000 minimum balance account, includes customized checks, online banking, web bill pay, e-statements, telephone banking and more, all free of charge. The Privilege Checking Account, which requires a minimum balance of $25,000, receive the same benefits plus a monthly reimbursement of up to $50 for surcharge fees associated with the use of ATMs outside of the SDFCU network.
State Dept. FCU Offers Interest Checking
BASKING RIDGE, N.J.-Affinity FCU has launched the GreenSmart Home Equity Loan that rewards members who are planning to reduce their carbon footprints through home improvement projects with a .25% APR reduction.
Terms vary between five, 10, 15, or 20 years and budgeting is easy with a fixed monthly payment plan available.
Homeowners must provide an Affinity home finance consultant with documentation of eligible home improvements by submitting a written estimate or contractor proposal. As an additional service, Affinity can even help homeowners put together their own "green" plans.
