LANSING, Mich. – Lake Trust CU, the $1.6 billion credit union giant formed by last year’s merger of Detroit Edison CU and NuUnion CU, announced this morning the hiring of David Snodgrass, a top executive with New Jersey’s Affinity FCU, as its president and CEO.
Snodgrass, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at the $2 billion Affinity, will succeed Stephan Winninger and William Thiess as the CEO/President of the credit union. Both former leaders of the merged credit unions coordinated their retirement dates with the finalization of last year’s combination. Both have served the credit union movement for about 20 years,
“David will bring great ideas and support to the Lake Trust membership,” said Larry Lehman, chairman of the Lake Trust board. “ He is an inspiring innovator and masterful strategist, and strongly believes in community support.”
Lake Trust is Michigan’s fourth-largest credit union and serves more than 153,000 members at 21 branches.
