WASHINGTON – The National Association of REALTORS announced this morning it has hired well-known industry consultant and executive Thomas Glatt as the first president and CEO of its new credit union, REALTORS FCU, which will be the nation's first Internet-only credit union.
Glatt, most recently CEO at Continental FCU in Arizona, will take over the fledgling credit union, awarded a charter by NCUA two weeks ago, on Dec. 15.
The new credit union, which will serve an estimated 1.2 million independent realtors nationwide, is one of the best-funded start-up credit unions in years with a $10 million commitment from the national trade group.
Glatt, who had been a credit union consultant for 16 years, was executive vice president and chief operating officer for two years of OnPoint Community CU in Portland, Ore., before going to work at Continental FCU two years ago. He has also served as chief financial officer with First Financial FCU in West Covina, Calif., and 66 FCU of Philips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Okla., and on the boards of USA FCU, San Diego, and Kaiperm FCU, Oakland, Calif.
