APPLE VALLEY, Minn. - (07/16/04) -- Wings Financial FCU, formerly knownas NWA FCU, has signed with AirTran Airways to provide the nascentdiscount airline's 5,800 crew members with financial services. Theaddition of AirTran is the first major airline group signed by the$1.5 billion credit union since its switch to a TIP (tradewide,industrywide or professionwide) charter serving the nation'sairline industry earlier this year. Under the deal, the creditunion will install new ATMs in the airline's largest centers ofoperation at the Atlanta and Savannah, Ga., airports, and willproduce customized checks, debit and credit cards for crew membersfeaturing AirTran Airways planes.
