News Briefs: Routine Traffic Stop Turns Up Credit Union Data In Car

What should have been a routine traffic stop uncovered a trove of personal financial information of members of City Credit Union. Garland police stopped Robert Hardin for a traffic violation, but discovered in his car documents from the credit union. Later, police said, they discovered even more records at Hardin's home. The credit union told local media the documents were old and were to be destroyed. Police, unsure how Hardin obtained the documents, said they believe he intended to use them as part of an identity theft scheme.
