PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - (04/07/06) --There was little to celebrate fortellers at Monterey CU this St. Patrick's Day after an armed robberthreatened a pregnant teller and made off with a bag of cash. Itwas the third armed robbery at this credit union branch over thepast two years--the first was also on that popular Irishcelebration, March 17, 2004. In that incident, two credit unionmembers wrestled the assailant to the ground and held him untilpolice arrived. And last Feb. 5, another robber held up the branchat gunpoint and escaped on foot. He was later arrested and hisserving a prison sentence of three to five years. Police are stillsearching for the latest robber.
