Nominations Open For 2016 Wegner Awards

MADISON, Wis. — The National Credit Union Foundation is now accepting nominations for next year's herb Wegner Memorial Awards, to be presented Feb. 22, 2016, in conjunction with CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington.

The Wegner Awards are open to individuals and organizations that support the credit union movement.

"The Foundation's Wegner Awards are widely considered the highest national honors in the credit union movement, so we encourage you to nominate your best and brightest for these prestigious awards," Danielle Brown, Foundation Director of Donor Relations and Development said in a statement.

Nominations are due, July 31 for the following awards:

  • Outstanding Individual Achievement. This award recognizes individuals dedicated to promoting the CU philosophy, who have created innovative concepts and provided leadership that has had a significant and lasting impact on local, regional, national or international credit union movements with measured results.
  • Outstanding Organization/Program Award. This award honors organizations, programs or businesses for innovative concepts, products or services that have had significant impacts on credit unions at the local, national or international level with measured results.

The Outstanding Individual Achievement Award is a combination of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Individual Achievement Award, which were handed out in previous years.
Nomination forms are available at ncuf.coop, and must be submitted to the Foundation by July 31, along with at least five letters of recommendation citing examples of the nominee's achievements relevant to the award criteria.
