North Shore Federal Credit Union, Silver Bay, Minn., on Tuesday said it recently selected CUProdigy to replace its outdated core data processing system.
Based in Layton, Utah, CUProdigy says it is a technology-focused credit union service organization. The CUSO offers its own modern, cloud-based core processing platform, known as Prodigy Core, as well as core-agnostic, cloud-based IT infrastructure services that include a virtual desktop infrastructure solution.
Mark Summers, CEO of the $167 million North Shore FCU, said when he began his data processing search he heard good reports about both CUProdigy’s platform and its people.
“Our current system just has not kept pace with what is available out in the marketplace,” Summers said in a statement. “The CUProdigy core is definitely an improvement over what we have now, but what I am really excited about is the people we will be working with. I like the fact they are a CUSO and I have all the confidence in the world the CUProdigy team will continue to enhance the platform over time.”
North Shore FCU currently serves 10,000 members.
According to Summers, he sees CUProdigy as a “great value” now, and he expects it to be “even more so” in the years to come. Summers added he is enthusiastic about moving from an in-house system to a 100 percent cloud-based platform. He said the cloud will bring “significant improvements” in business continuity, disaster recovery, backups and uptime, among other features.
“We are really excited about our future with the CUProdigy team,” Summers said.
