Originations Up 37% In 2012

DALLAS-Credit union mortgage services provider CU Members Mortgage experienced a busy 2012-its 30th year in business. It signed 52 new credit unions as clients (917,000 potential new home-buying members), had an increase of 37% in originations in comparison to 2011, a 47% increase in refinances in comparison with 2011, and an increase of 15% in purchases from 2011 to 2012.

Filene, DigitalMailer Intro 'Leeflet'

HERNDON, Va.-DigitalMailer and the Filene Research Institute have launched a pilot that will develop online brochures for credit unions, part of a larger project by Filene to reduce the paper used by credit unions. DigitalMailer's "Leeflet" is described as a user-friendly service that sends information to members from their credit union to their members' e-mail inboxes.

Re-Launched Portfolios Find Success

DES MOINES, Iowa-TMG Financial Services, a third-party agent issuer, said community financial institutions evaluating their credit card options should consider the re-launch of their credit card programs, as during the past 18 months the company has helped five FIs restart their credit card portfolios and achieve account penetration of 3.1%, which is 150% greater than the national average of 2.2%.
