O Bee CU Offers $15,000 ‘Capture The Tag’ Prizes

TUMWATER, Wash. – O Bee CU, along with six other sponsors, is offering $15,000 in prize money to winners of its scavenger hunt-like “Capture The Tag” contest, where participants will use smart phones to scan and collect 30 Microsoft MS tags that play videos on their phones.

Participating businesses can offer their own discounts and incentives as part of the Capture The Tag promotion, loosely built around the child’s game Capture the Flag, but no purchase is required to participate.

Clues and contest information will be featured on the sites of all the co-sponsors, which include TwinStar CU, the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, and the local newspaper, the Olympian, as well as on Capture The Tag Facebook and Twitter pages.

Everyone who collects all 30 tags is invited to an end-of-contest Tag Party, where they are eligible for the prize drawing at the end of the night. First prize is $10,000, second prize is $3,000, third prize is $2,000. In addition, five other entrants will win an Apple iPad.

“We want to both engage and challenge Generation X and tech users to socially connect offline, as well as online, in pursuit of some nice rewards,” said  Lee Wojnar, vice president of marketing for O Bee CU. “In the process, they’ll get an introduction to some area businesses where they can become customers, they’ll get some personal finance lessons, and in the end, they'll get a chance to come together at a great party, where they could win some very attractive prizes.”
