Omega FCU’s Robert Vuono Passes

PITTSBURGH – Robert Vuono, the president and CEO of Omega FCU since 1988, died unexpectedly last week from an undisclosed cause.

Vuono took, who over the now $75 million credit union, known at the time as Bell International FCU, had planned to retire in February 2010.

Vuono, who began his financial services career in 1966 at Equibank then worked at First Home Savings Association, was instrumental in the creation of the Pennsylvania CU Service Centers (shared branch network) and served on its board.
