BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – OMNI CU yesterday declared its first special dividend, a $650,000 payout to 35,000 members in early January.

The $205 million credit union reported net income of about $1 million for the first three quarters of the year.
Members of record as of November 17 who maintain their active account through January 9 will receive a 0.20% dividend on all 2008 average yearly deposit and loan balances for the 12-month period of January 1 through December 31. All eligible members will receive at least $5, but some members will receive thousands. The special dividend will pay out on January 9, and be deposited into the member’s saving account.
