Fund Established To Help Victims Of Haiti Quake

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti-The World Council of CUs has created a relief fund and begun accepting donations following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Haiti has 175 credit unions that serve some 400,000 members. WOCCU has confirmed its representatives in the country were uninjured. To make a donation:

Mid-Atlantic Corp Schedules Mtgs

MIDDLETOWN, Penn.- Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU will be holding town hall meetings throughout the region over the next two months to discuss future plans for membership and capital at the institution. President/CEO Jay Murray said it is critical for the corporate to discuss its plans for this year and beyond with the membership, especially in light of NCUA proposed rule changes and continued troubles in both the corporate system as well as the broader economy.

Meetings will be held in the following cities: Williamsport, Wilkes-Barre, Harrisburg, King of Prussia, Altoona, Erie and Monroeville in Penn., Hill and Clark, N.J., College Park, Md. and New Castle in Del. For info: www.midatlanticcorp.org.

 

DATCU Pays Out Bonus Dividend

DENTON, Texas-DATCU CU said it paid its members a bonus dividend of 1% for the fourth quarter, amounting to a $293,000 special payout.

The bonus brought the regular share rate up from 0.75% to 1.75% for the fourth quarter. The $500 million credit union reported a $5.1 million net for the first three quarters of the year, even after taking a $3 million charge for the corporate credit union bailout.
