One-Time Teller Ends 55 Years At Jeanne D’Arc CU

LOWELL, Mass. – Leon Bedard, who began his career at Jeanne D’Arc CU as a part-time teller 55 years ago and became an executive and volunteer, retired from the board of the $1-billion credit union last month after 37 years.

Bedard started with the credit union in 1958. He was named a vice president and elected to the board in 1977. He was promoted to senior vice president-marketing before retiring in 1992.

“Mr. Bedard has devoted decades of his life to Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union and to furthering our mission of helping members make smart financial choices,” said Mark  Cochran, president of Jeanne D’Arc. “Mr. Bedard has been a valuable member of the board who has always made members his primary concern and contributed greatly to our success.”
