PORTLAND, Ore. The former operations officer of Rivergate FCU was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for stealing $409,000 over seven years to help support her addiction to painkillers.
Jade Carnahan, 35, took the cash from her till, the credit union vault, and from 18 member accounts between 2008 and 2012, according to court records. Prosecutors said she spent the money to feed her addiction and acknowledged the addiction at sentencing. She was ordered to pay restitution as part of a plea deal.
The $5-million credit union was merged into Northwest Priority CU this summer.
