ORNL FCU’s CUSO rebrands as 7

CU Community LLC, the wholly owned credit union service organization of the $1.9 billion-asset ORNL Federal Credit Union of Oak Ridge, Tenn., rebranded as “7” on May 1.

The new name reflects the seven principles of the credit union movement.

As part of the new regime, the sub-companies of the CUSO will also be branded under the 7 umbrella as “7 Mortgage,” “7 Title” and “7 Insurance.”

“The sixth principle of credit unions is ‘cooperation among cooperatives’ and our continued focus will be on helping partner credit unions better serve their members, “ 7 President & CEO Chris Boler said in a statement. “By working as a partner with credit unions, ‘7’ is able to offer the best mortgages, title services, and insurance products in the market.”

As an example of ORNL FCU’s cooperative spirit, the parties noted that “7 Title” and ‘7 Insurance” are co-owned by ORNL FCU and Y-12 Federal Credit Union, a $1.1 billion institution also based in Oak Ridge.
