MADISON, Wis.-Members of the CUNA Technology Council exec committee offer these recommendations:
* Make sure websites are personalized for each member by way of back-end Customer Relationship Management technologies.
* Provide online chat to give members another communication channel (STCU fields about 1,200 chat sessions per month versus about 27,000 phone calls, said Caillouet.)
* Provide remote deposit so members don't have to visit the branch.
* Move to shared branching to facilitate large national switches for lower costs transactions.
* Utilize cloud computing for sharing software resources within the network.
* Save office and equipment costs by accommodating remote workers.
* Take advantage of videoconferencing to save travel expenses and time.
* Enhance collections systems to handle rising delinquencies.
* Invest in regulatory compliance as economic factors force regulators to tighten the screws.
