EUGENE, Ore. – OUR FCU said it has received $170,000 in funding though four separate grants that will help it expand services to low-income residents.
A $90,000 HUD grant will allow the credit union to continue free homeownership counseling programs; a $60,000 award form the Human Services Commission of Lane County will fund financial literacy course it provides for the county’s energy assistance programs; a $15,000 grant from NCUA will enable it to implement a debit card program; and $5,000 from through the National Federation of CDCUs will help it provide free tax assistance under the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
OUR FCU is a 39-year-old, $5 million community development credit union that caters to low-income and Latino residents.
