PenFed Foundation Gives Computers To National Naval Medical Center

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Pentagon FCU’s PenFed Foundation has donated $7,000 worth of touch-screen computers to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.

The computers, which are designed to be easier to use by people with limited dexterity, will be used in the assisted technology lab for veterans who have lost hands or arms during their service.

New technology has given amputees increased mobility, but many everyday objects remain difficult to use, especially computers which rely on keyboards, mouses and trackpads. The PenFed Foundation’s donations include an Apple MacBook, iMac and iPad, a Hewlett-Packard Notebook PC, a Dell Inspiron desktop and related hardware and software. All come with portable touch-screen equipment.
