Pennsylvania, New Jersey leagues select name for combined organization

The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association and the New Jersey Credit Union League will go by CrossState Credit Union Association once their merger is completed.

The two trade groups, which announced their proposed merger earlier this year, expect the new name to go into effect on Jan. 1 when the transaction is completed, according to a press release on Monday.

Patrick Conway is president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association

“We believe our new name and brand represents credit unions in both states, and our mission, vision, and values that have guided us through the rebranding process,” Patrick Conway, Pennsylvania Credit Union Association president and CEO, said in the press release. “We took a data-focused approach to what our members want and need, as well as how we can best deliver on those expectations.”

The combined organization will provide advocacy, compliance expertise, training and networking for credit unions in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The organizations are continuing to work on the integration.

Conway will lead CrossState and its affiliates as CEO. David Frankil, president and CEO of NJCUL, will be president of the for-profit subsidiary, CrossState Solutions.

The roughly 360 credit unions in Pennsylvania serve 4.2 million members and have more than $50 billion in assets. In New Jersey, there are about 150 credit unions with $13.4 billion in assets serving more than 1 million members.
